Saltire Facilities Management continues East Coast expansion with £250,000 contract win

Saltire Facilities Management, the Glasgow-based central heating and electrical company, has continued to expand its East Coast operations with another significant contract win.

After a competitive tendering process, Saltire, who already operate in the region, were awarded a Gas Heating installation pilot contract with Angus Council worth over £250,000. The contract, which will see Saltire install new gas heating systems in 86 properties, will be delivered by local teams reporting to the company’s head office in Bellshill, Glasgow.

Saltire General Manager John Reynolds commented; “Earlier this year we announced our intentions to expand our operations up the East Coast and this contract win is another significant step towards realising our ambitions. Our local teams work exceptionally hard to maintain our excellent reputation and I am delighted that their efforts have led to new contract wins.”

Saltire, which was acquired by building services investment organisation United Capital in May, is benefitting from the local knowledge of its new colleagues from other United Capital group subsidiaries, McGill and Alliance Electrical Services.

John Reynolds added; “Saltire will continue to seek to win public sector contracts through competitive tendering and great customer service, a reputation that we have worked hard to build up. We are currently rolling out a large domestic heating marketing campaign and will continue to look at growth by acquiring other East Coast operators.”

Saltire Facilities Management, head-quartered in Bellshill, Glasgow, is a national provider of central heating and electrical services and, with over 320 direct employees and an annual turnover of £30 million, is one of the largest of its type in the UK.

Saltire was acquired by United Capital in May as part of the investment group’s ambitious buy-and-build strategy which sees the company target the acquisition of UK building services and facilities management companies with a collective turnover of £500million over the next three to five years.

Saltire General Manager John Reynolds commented; “We were delighted to be successfully awarded this significant contract with Stonewater. Our teams are excited to get started having spent the past few months preparing for this. With the current Covid situation making everything a bit more challenging, it is great to get started.

“This contract is a particularly important one for Saltire as we will use the new Midlands base to rapidly expand our private, domestic business in the region.”

Saltire, who were recently acquired by UK building sector investment group United Capital, directly employ over 320 people across the UK and the Stonewater contract sees the company branch into the Midlands for the first time.
